Building Competitive Gaming Infrastructure Across Africa
Wave Gaming HUB is a Nigeria-based esports organization building the infrastructure, talent pathways, and digital career opportunities that Africa’s gaming generation has been missing.
We’re not just running tournaments. We’re building the pipeline, from a student’s first competitive match, through structured leagues, all the way to real careers in esports and the digital economy.
Our Mission
Esports in Africa has the players, the passion, and the audience. What it’s lacked is structure: clear pathways from casual play to competitive careers, and the systems to support them. Wave Gaming HUB exists to build that structure, starting on university campuses and scaling from there.
What We Do
Campus Esports Africa (CEA) Our flagship initiative, building sustainable esports ecosystems inside African universities around three pillars: Competition (leagues, tournaments, scouting), Education (casting, production, design, and operations training through the CEA Academy), and Opportunity (internships, mentorships, and industry pathways). CEA’s guiding philosophy is simple: From Campus to Champion.
University Esports Leagues Starting with the University of Ibadan Esports League (UIEL), we’re building standalone, structured competitions that give students a real stage, and a real ladder to climb, without folding esports into existing inter-hall or inter-faculty sports programs.
EsportingHQ Partnership Through our live score partnership with EsportingHQ, every WGH tournament runs with real-time scores, brackets, and player stats tracking, giving players, fans, and partners a way to follow competition the way esports fans everywhere expect to.
Our Story
Wave Gaming HUB was founded to close the gap between Africa’s booming gaming culture and the infrastructure needed to turn that culture into careers. We started with a simple belief: the next generation of African esports talent, players, casters, producers, and organizers, is already out there. They just need a stage, a structure, and a path forward.
Today, that work is underway. From campus scrimmages that grew into Campus Esports Screamz, to formal research positioning esports as youth development infrastructure, to partnerships that bring real data and credibility to campus competition, Wave Gaming HUB is building one layer at a time.
Our Focus
For the next five years, our priority is clear: producing Campus Esports events and building the ecosystem around them. Everything we do, from leagues to partnerships to platform tools, is in service of that focus.
