Campus Esports Screamz Registration Is Now Open

Campus Esports Screamz is coming this October. Registration is officially open as campuses prepare to compete, connect and make their mark. Secure your slot and be part of the first edition.

Africa is only just beginning to claim its place in that industry, and Nigeria’s campuses are where that story starts. Thousands of students are already gaming, competing, and building communities on their own. What’s been missing is a stage built for them.

If the name Weekend Games rings a bell, it should. That casual weekend tradition is exactly where this started. We took it, gave it structure, and built it into something bigger: Campus Esports Screamz.

From Weekend Games to Campus Esports Screamz

Weekend Games was where it began, students getting together to compete just for the fun of it. Campus Esports Screamz is that same spirit, now with real structure behind it: organized brackets, proper eligibility rules, and a stage worth showing up for.

Screamz brings structured, competitive esports to Nigerian campuses across five of the biggest mobile titles: eFootball Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Free Fire, and PUBG Mobile. Whether you play for the love of the game or you’re chasing a shot at competing on a bigger stage, Screamz is built to give you both.

Every match will run with live scores, real-time brackets, and player stats tracking, thanks to Wave Gaming HUB’s live score partnership with EsportingHQ. No more waiting on a results post to find out who’s through to the next round.

    Why It Matters

Screamz isn’t a one-off tournament, it’s the first real test of what Campus Esports Africa is building: a structured path “From Campus to Champion.” It’s where Competition meets Education meets Opportunity, the three pillars behind everything CEA does. Play well here, and you’re not just winning matches, you’re putting yourself on the radar for what comes next.

    How to Register

Registration is open now and slots are limited. If you’re a student ready to compete, connect, and make your mark, this is your entry point.

Secure your slot and be part of the first edition of Campus Esports Screamz this September.

For years, following a WGH tournament meant refreshing a Discord channel or waiting on an admin to post the next result. That changes with Campus Esports Screamz.

Wave Gaming HUB has partnered with EsportingHQ, a live scores and tournament data platform, to bring real-time scoring, brackets, and player stats to every match under the Campus Esports Africa umbrella, starting with Campus Esports Screamz.

    What the Partnership Brings

From the opening match of Screamz, fans, players, and campus teams will be able to follow tournaments the way esports fans everywhere expect to:

    • Live scores updated as matches are played, no more waiting on a results post
    • Real-time brackets that update automatically as teams advance, so you always know who’s up next and who’s out
    • Player stats tracking, giving competitors a running record of their performance across the tournament and beyond

This isn’t a single-game feature. It covers every title on the Screamz calendar: eFootball Mobile, Call of Duty: Mobile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Free Fire, and PUBG Mobile.

    Why It Matters

Campus esports in Nigeria has grown fast, but the infrastructure around it, the scoring, the data, the way results get shared, hasn’t always kept pace. Players deserve to see their stats. Fans deserve to follow a bracket without guesswork. Tournament organizers deserve tools that don’t run on spreadsheets and screenshots.

That’s the gap EsportingHQ is built to close, and Campus Esports Screamz is where it goes live first.

“This partnership means every player who steps into a Screamz match is playing on record,” said a Wave Gaming HUB spokesperson. “Your performance shows up in real time, and so does your story across the tournament.”

    What’s Next

The EsportingHQ integration rolls out live with Campus Esports Screamz across eFootball Mobile, CODM, MLBB, Free Fire, and PUBG Mobile. As the tournament progresses, expect live brackets and scores to become the default way to follow every Screamz match, with more titles and events joining in the seasons ahead.

Registration for Campus Esports Screamz is open now. Secure your slot and be part of the first tournament to go live on EsportingHQ.

  • Building the Next Generation of Campus Esports

Building the Next Generation of Campus Esports

Esports in Nigeria has a talent problem, not a talent shortage, a discovery one. Thousands of students across Nigerian universities are already competing, casting, organizing, and building communities around gaming. What’s been missing is a structure connecting all of it, and Campus Esports Africa exists to build that structure.

Campus Esports Africa (CEA) is Wave Gaming HUB’s initiative for developing sustainable esports ecosystems inside African universities. Not a one-off tournament series, an ecosystem.

    From Campus to Champion

That’s CEA’s guiding philosophy, and it shapes everything the initiative is built around. CEA stands on three pillars:

    • Competition: campus leagues, tournaments, and scouting, giving players a real ladder to climb
    • Education: the CEA Academy, covering casting, production, design, operations, content, and community management, for students who want a career in esports, not just a seat in it
    • Opportunity: internships, mentorships, and industry collaborations that turn campus involvement into real career pathways

The model runs in stages: campus activations, university leagues, national showcase events, and progression into professional ecosystems. Each stage feeds the next, so a student who starts out playing in a dorm-room tournament has an actual path toward casting, producing, or competing at a national level.

This is just the beginning. As Campus Esports Africa takes shape and the Campus Rep network grows, expect more campuses, more titles, and more students finding their way from campus to champion.
